COVID-19 POLICY

Our Covid-19 Policy

The world is a hugely different place since the pandemic. At Lorien House Bed and Breakfast our priority is to keep things as normal and familiar as possible for all our guests who come here to relax, take in the scenery and enjoy good food. We are continuing to provide the same relaxed home from home experience, whilst taking appropriate measures to help reduce the risk of anyone contracting the virus within our accommodation.

We have been awarded the Good to Go Industry Standard to show that we are following guidelines on cleanliness and social distancing and have carried out a thorough risk assessment.

Lorien House Bed & Breakfast in Fort Augustus, Scotland, is part of the World Travel Tourism Council's Safe Travels Scheme and VisitScotland's We're Good to Go Scheme

Guest Rooms

Our four guest rooms are located over two floors. We have one double room on the ground floor and two double rooms and a twin room on the first floor. Guests are served breakfast in the guest breakfast room which is just off the hallway on the ground floor. We ask all guests to operate a ‘give way’ system standing back when meeting other guests until your route is clear in the hallway, landing and within all communal areas.

We have always provided a high standard of cleanliness and continue to do so with additional measures. We allow around one hour to changeover a room between guests. All rooms are cleaned and then sanitised using products which meet BS EN1276 and BS EN14476 standards. At each changeover, mattress and pillow protectors are replaced and all surfaces and high use touch points such as plug and light switches, door handles are sanitised with recommended products. TV remote controls and room keys are cleaned, sanitised and placed in protective bags at each changeover. Unused items on the hospitality tray are removed and fresh items put in place ready for the next guests.

To protect both our guests and us, we will not be carrying out room tidies for stays of less than five nights unless particularly requested. If guests require additional items within their stay, please ask.

All communal areas are regularly cleaned and sanitised including soft furnishings and touchpoints.

Breakfast Room

The breakfast room is located on the ground floor just off the hallway to the rear. We have positioned the tables 2 metres apart and will provide separate buffet items for each table. Guests will be asked to pre-order their main breakfast choice the night before. Breakfast will be available at staggered times.

We ask that guests use the sanitiser provided on the bookcase before they enter the breakfast room. If you are a regular guest you will see more individually packaged items, such as cereals, than you are used to, hopefully this will just be a temporary measure.

Check in and Out

We collect details of the lead guest and will email you out a link to an online registration form which needs to be submitted the day before arrival. Please note that we will comply with GDPR rules when storing and using your data.

When you arrive, please stand back from the door after ringing the bell. If other guests are checking in at the same time, you may be asked to wait outside until we can safely welcome you in. You are no longer required to wear a face covering within Lorien House but if you feel more comfortable wearing one please do so.

We will take the balance of your stay via our booking system from the card you registered with your booking with on the day of your arrival. If you would prefer to pay cash or with another card, please let us know.

On the day of your departure, please vacate your room by 10.00am. Please leave your key in the room door and open all windows to ventilate the room. We will leave the room to air for at least an hour after your departure before we start the cleaning and sanitising process.
